‘Union is Power’is a message that was written by Dr Inazo Nitobe in addressing the youth of his hometown when he received the news that the tsunami triggered by the Sanriku earthquake of 3 March 1933 had caused the Iwate prefecture coastline to suffer unprecedented damage to its coastline.
